Behaviour for Learning
We believe that all students who are educated at Skipton Girls’ High School have the right to achieve highly, make excellent progress and participate fully in all aspects of learning inside and outside the classroom.
All students also have a responsibility to ensure everyone can learn free from disturbance or interruption.
Every student has a choice in the way they behave and all choices have consequences. The school promotes high standards of behaviour, self-discipline and learning through positive encouragements and rewards.
We would be grateful if you could take some time to read through the following information and discuss it with your child so that we are all clear about the expectations, strategies, rewards and consequences which constitute our Behaviour for Learning policy and Code of Conduct.
Parents and community groups
We are keen to work with parents in all the communities we serve. We run a successful Parents in Partnership Group who we regularly share our approach to Behaviour for Learning. This is proving to be very successful and creates better relationships between home and school.
Help and support for parents and carers
We have a wide range of people from external services who are available to help parents and carers with any issues they might have. Please ring the school to seek an appointment to meet with them, or speak to them.
