Here at Greatwood our music curriculum and the musical experiences that we offer our children are first class.

The emphasis that we give to music is equally as important as other curriculum areas.

We currently offer; choir, recorder club, weekly brass band lessons, whole school singing assembly, accordion lessons, violin lessons, keyboard lessons and guitar lessons.

Warriors of the Rainbow-October 2021

Our choir were absolutely delighted to be invited to perform a piece alongside Skipton Camerata orchestra.

The piece 'Warriors of the Rainbow' was composed by Tim Brooks.

As we consider how - post-Covid, post-lockdown - our lives are to return to a ‘new normal’, we focus in this concert on music that reflects on the natural world and our relationship with it.

Now that the full impact of industrialisation on the natural world is increasingly understood. Tim's piece addresses the climate crisis in a new commission as part of an educational project involving local primary schools funded by the Tarn Moor Estate.

The choir performed to an audience of 200 children from Greatwood and Waterstreet school and then to an audience of over 200 parents and members of the public.
